Gentle and Non-Force Chiropractic
Dr. Gaila Mackenzie-Strawn has over 30 years of experience in gentle and non-force chiropractic manipulation, non-thrusting extremity manipulation and traditional gentle adjusting.
She specializes in Activator Method Chiropractic Technique and Sacro Occipital Technique.
Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) is a chiropractic technique designed to help normalize the relationship between the pelvis and the neck.
The technique works by using “blocks” which are devices shaped like a wedge. these are placed along the hips in a specific manner allowing the adjustment to gently occur as you relax on the table. Chiropractors trained in this technique understand the proper placement of these block to achieve a balanced pelvic region. The procedure is comfortable, even to those with severe low back pain.
SOT is one of the oldest chiropractic techniques dating back to the mid 1920s. It was founded by Dr. M.B. DeJarnette, an American, who was both an osteopath and a chiropractor.
The Activator Method Chiropractic Technique is a chiropractic treatment method and device created by Arlan Fuhr as an alternative to manual manipulation of the spine or extremity joints. The device is categorized a a mechanical force manual assisted instrument which is generally regarded as a softer chiropractic treatment technique. The device produces enough force to move the vertebra but not enough to cause discomfort.
Testimonial:
“If you haven’t gone to a chiropractor because you think they are all big cracks and bends to you back and you think or know your back can’t handle that, you should come see Dr. Gaila because that is the opposite of what she’s about. Dr. Gaila uses a non-force, gentle adjustment and wedges. My hips always go out of alignment and I can always tell because my knees really ache as well as my back. I feel so good after an adjustment. I’m telling you this lady knows her stuff. I’ve seen her off and on for ten years and she does what she does because she truly loves helping people. She’s a gift!”
