About Dr. Gaila
Dr. Gaila Mackenzie-Strawn is a Board Certified Traditional Naturopathic Physician who has 30 years of experience treating and educating both patients and other healthcare practitioners in the field of natural medicine. Her passion in life is to help others regain and maintain good health and she believes that information and education are the keys to having optimum health.
Dr. Gaila holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition and Biology and is a board certified, licensed Chiropractic Physician in the state of California. She completed all required courses for a Medical Degree and has lectured extensively, both publicly and to physicians groups, on the subject of integrative medicine and health. She has been invited as an expert guest on several radio and TV talk shows (including The Montel Williams Show). In addition to her professional practice, she produced and hosted a weekly radio program, KCEO‘s Your Health Connection, out of San Diego, California, from 1986-2004. The syndicated talk show Women’s Health Talk, which she also produced and hosted, was aired on 65 stations through Talk America Radio Network. Dr. Gaila can currently be heard hosting Health Talk on Thursday afternoons at 2:00 pm, pacific, on Blog Talk Radio (blogtalkradio.com/drgaila).
Dr. Gaila has been married to David Strawn for 20 years, is a proud step mother of Elisha, Michael and Cameron and has three beautiful grandchildren, Madeline, David and Gavin.

Education
Dr. Mackenzie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Windham College in Putney, Vermont, with a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in English. For her post-graduate work she attended the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut where she earned a master’s degree (M.S.), Magna Cum Laude, in Biology/Clinical Nutrition. Because of her interest in natural medicine, she elected to attend the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in Glendale, California where she earned her doctorate degree (D.C.). In 1995, she received certification as a Board Certified Traditional Naturopathic Doctor (C.T.N.). She completed hospital rotations in 2007 at Maryvale Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona and finished all required courses for her medical degree (M.D.) through UHSA Medical School.
